Ughhhh, I absolutely LOATHE this word. This word insinuates being restricted, with this word comes a list of do’s and don’ts. I hate saying, “I”m going on a diet.” In fact, I avoid saying it at all costs.
To be honest, diet means whatever food we habitually eat, so essentially everyone has a diet wether they want to call it that.
I’m a firm believer in, “Everything in moderation.” I don’t believe one should restrict themselves from the foods that they love. The amount they eat them in… yes. That’s why I’ve decided to revisit the method of IIFYM. Yep, that’s right, I’m going back to tracking my meals. I don’t want to think of this as a ‘diet’ though. Following IIFYM post show just stressed me out. I needed to take a loooong break from tracking my macros. I needed space and time to get healthy again. Dropping down to 1,200 calories a day was dangerous and foolish.
IIFYM is a great awareness tool, knowing exactly what you’re putting in your body. Our bodies are amazing pieces of machinery! We should treat them as such. I WANT routine again, I WANT to know what I’m putting in my body while enjoying what I eat, and I WANT to see results!
I’ve been working so damn hard in the gym but haven’t been seeing any results and it’s really disheartening. IIFYM gave me freedom AND results. I looked and felt my best 10 weeks before my show; when I was eating 1,600 calories a day and working my ass off in the gym.
I’m converting back to IIFYM! Can’t wait to get lean and mean while eating what I want!
