Winter Break Plans

2 more finals for the quarter then I’m a free woman! I am completely finished with any and all assignments, completely DONE with English, and my last physical day at school will be next Monday for my Math final. 4 weeks to do whatever the hell I want! Here’s a short list of the goals I have in mind.

1) Make some gains in the gym – I have good weeks and bad weeks. This week has been a bad week due to tweaking my back a few weeks ago. I’m going to remain optimistic and be glad I’m taking a minor break during finals week. I can make ample use of my time and get some serious studying done. 4 weeks of lifting to come!

2) Take naps – Naps are great. I freakin’ love them. I can’t wait to take naps, especially with Derek. He’s probably the best person I know at napping, he’s got it down to a science. I keep sleeping and refuse to wake up. I also make the mistake of napping in bed, big no-no. Derek does half hour to 45 minute naps on the couch, he’s like a space heater too so I don’t usually need a blanket 🙂 It’s about to be on.

3) Walk my dog every day – I’ve been a bad pet owner 😩 I get sensitive about the ‘walking the dog’ topic. I wish I could walk her every day, but sometimes my schedule gets so hectic! I miss my dog, I wish I could bring her to work. One day, one day…

Look at the adorable face!

4) Watch endless amounts of TV – I’m actually surprised how I’ve been able to keep up with all my shows, full time work, and a full course load. I watch a shit ton of TV too! New Girl, Once Upon a Time, American Horror Story, Nashville, Vampire Diaries, Reign etc. I guess we know where my time that could be spent in the gym is going. This Winter we might veg out on all the new Netflix movies! They just released their list of new movies they will be adding: Netflix December 2014 Releaseswatchtv

5) Bake food and eat it – Honestly, this probably won’t happen. I have high hopes for myself when it comes to baking for the holidays, but I never follow through. BUT I WANT TO START! I’m hopefully getting a toaster oven for Christmas and will be able to experiment last week of December. Hopefully my baking skills will be on point for the New Year.

COOKIES6) Track some outdoor miles – My shoes are FINALLY broken into, Polar fixed my FT4 watch, and I have a running hat and gloves! No excuses! Last Thursday Derek and I did a killer sprint session on the track by our house as well as hill sprints. It was killer! I kept up the whole 6.5 miles and didn’t quit. I still got it baby!

7) Christmas shopping! – We need to buy Derek’s family presents! We have his mom’s, sister Jen’s, and we have each other’s presents. We need to get work done! Most of our shopping might be done online, Bellevue Square Mall will be packed until January 1st!

8) Update my eBay store – I’ve been saving my eBay funds to restock on more eBay items. I took advantage of the Black Friday & Cyber Monday deals and made several large orders online from second hand consignments such as Twice and ThredUp. Twice had a $75 off a $200 order or more deal, so I placed two of those. All Free People! I bought stuff in my size that I like in case they don’t sell, so I can wear them.

9) Finish reading Osho: The Book of Wisdom – I started this at the beginning of the year but never needed up finishing it. I let one of my friends borrow it, but I will be taking it back to finish over the break. Amazing book so far! I feel really guilty for not completing it. I will keep you updated on my reads.

Book Wisdom

10) Spend quality time with the family – Yes please! I will be taking Tuesday, December 23rd through Sunday, December 28th off returning to work December 29th. Kaienna will be visiting for that entire week! Her mom asked her what she wanted to do for Christmas and she chose coming to Dad’s for a week instead of just a few days. We were really happy to hear that, and happy that her mom is letting her come over for so long. She’s gonna be one spoiled lil’ girl!

Here’s to the next 4 weeks off! I hope everyone else has great plans as well!

Buys of September

Happy Sunday everybody! I hope everyone is having a fabulous weekend!

Yesterday Derek and I celebrated the end of his LSAT (Law School Admissions Test) that he has been studying for all Summer. He MIGHT have to retake it, but it’s not uncommon for people to have to retake it a second or third time. He said it was extremely difficult and very nerve wrecking, even I was feeling butterflies for him all day yesterday! I had to keep myself busy. I cleaned the house, I worked out, I took the dog for a walk, and I stood in my kitchen with my phone in my hand at 1:48pm waiting for his call. He called about 1:50pm and I immediately picked up before a second ring! He’s not sure how he did, but he did the best he could. I know he couldn’t have done anything more to prepare, he truly did his best. If he does have to retake it, at least he knows what to expect and where to improve. I’m extremely proud of him!

Anyways, I wanted to try something new with my blog. I wanted to share a few of my favorite buys of the month! I’ve become pretty sauvy with eBay, selling unwanted items, flipping items, and scoring deals! Here are a few of my favorite purchases:

naked2collageNaked 2 Palette – I’m absolutely in love with this eyeshadow palette from Urban Decay. This is definitely my favorite Naked palette out of the 3 they have to choose from. I also own the Naked 3, which is a lot more ‘pink’ based in their eyeshadows. I love the deeper taupe colors in the Naked 2, I feel like they compliment my skin tone much better. I honestly love both of them, but this would have to be my favorite. I scored this beauty on eBay for $30! This palette would originally cost $54 at Sephora.

naked3collageNaked 3 Palette – The Naked 3 eyeshadow palette is much ‘pinker’ in color like I mentioned above. Take a look, you can definitely notice! When I first received this palette I got a little too excited with experimenting right before work, and I ended up looking like a beat up street hooker! AHHHH! Definitely played with the pinks and purples a little too much. I would definitely recommend playing with the colors to make sure they match your skin tone. My skin tone is a medium-tan, so the Naked 2 palette compliments me much better. I love them both though, practice makes perfect when you’re learning what works for you. I only paid $15 for this on eBay! This palette would originally cost $54 at Sephora.

Too Faced Natural Eyes Palette – I love the colors of this eyeshadow palette and how they separate the eyeshadows by look and style. It also comes with a pamphlet to teach you how to apply them. I have probably used this palette the most. It’s so easy to apply and I really love the pigment. I received a Crown Eyedshadow Brush from my September Ipsy glam bag, so I’m using it for this palette. I purchased this item on eBay for $20. This eyeshadow palette would originally cost $36 at Sephora.

pureconnect3
Brooks PureConnect 3 – I was in DESPERATE need of a new pair of running shoes! I spent all weekend a few weeks ago searching for the Brooks PureFlow 3’s. I went to Downtown Bellevue and asked every store and NO ONE had them! I even called a few places and no one carried them. I wanted to try them on before buying them. I went home and did more research online, it a lot of avid runners said they disliked the 3’s and preferred the 2’s, so I thought I would try ordering the PureFlow 2’s online from a place that accepts returns so I could return them if I didn’t like the fit. NO WHERE ONLINE CARRIED THE PUREFLOW 2’s IN MY SIZE! So after another hour of research, I started leaning towards the PureConnect 3’s. I bought them straight off the Brooks site for $100 (sorry no deal, but I’m willing to pay extra for my feet!) and they accept returns no questions asked up to 30 days after purchase. I tried breaking them in on Thursday and running in them on the treadmill was fine! Walking uphill on the treadmill was excruciating though. They have a much higher arch than my previous shoes, Kinvara 3. I also had to tie them at the top lace hole to keep my heels from slipping out. I will definitely need to give them another shot on the pavement outdoors.

detention jacket bench

Bench Detention Jacket – I sold my Ravish Sands competition bikini online for $100 and scored 2 Bench jackets in return! This is one of them I purchased for the cold Winter months ahead! It’s so freakin’ warm inside, I love it! I scored this puppy on eBay for $59, this jacket would originally be $120 or more. I also bought this jacket brand new with tags still attached. Pretty stoked about my purchase, I’m getting the hang of eBay!

Well that’s a wrap! I would highly recommend eBay for early Christmas shopping, the steals are endless! Enjoy!

Summer Farewell

Mukilteo

This weekend at the Mukilteo Lighthouse Festival

Summer is nearing it’s end and Fall will be upon us in a few short weeks. Is it just me or did time fly by insanely quick? I hope everybody had a great Summer and did everything on their Bucket List. To farewell Summer, Derek and I went on a motorcycle ride to Mukilteo Beach to enjoy some brews at the Diamond Knot Brewery. Lucky for us, they were having the Lighthouse Festival as well! We got some early Christmas shopping done at the local vendor booths and sat on the docks enjoying the view. It was a very relaxing weekend, much needed for both of us.

In the next 2 weeks I’ll be going to school for the first time in 5 years! It’s pretty nerve wrecking, but I’m anxious to start making changes in my life and to aim my focus in new areas.

I don’t know if I ever blogged about it, but about 3-4 weeks ago I came across a bump in my Financial Aid. In 2008 I had a withdraw from Winter quarter at Bellevue College that was voiding my Financial Aid for this upcoming Fall. After much coordination with Derek’s friend in Financial Aid, Ernesto (bless his soul!); I was instructed to send in an Appeal with my explanation of what happened during that time. That was the year I ran away from home and experienced a lot of issues with my adoptive family, so I attested to that and had 5 witness letters written by friends and family. I’m truly blessed to have such good friends and family! Within 24 hours of me asking them each for the favor to write a witness letter, I had received them all and sent them in!

Financial Aid was approved! Hell yeah!

MY AID WAS APPROVED! So much stress has been lifted off my chest, none of it would have been possible without the help of Derek’s friend Ernesto.

I’m enrolled in English 101, Nutrition 100, and DON’T LAUGH…. Math 097. Yesterday morning I bought my books, holy hell those are a whole other expense! Thankfully I’ve been working 52 hour work weeks to earn overtime pay to make up for the wedding expenditures this Summer and help pay for books. I can’t wait to be on a normal schedule though! The money is nice and my mental health is actually doing pretty well, but I want to have more time in my day to where I’m not just working 6:00am to 6:30pm and vegging out on the couch until bedtime.

I have been staying on top of my workouts! I’ve been running 5-7 miles home on my 12 hour shifts days, and doing plenty of Zuzka videos on my normal 8 hour shift days or weekends. I honestly haven’t been to the gym in 3 weeks. I’m excited to go back though to work on my booty, I’m gonna diiiiie in the squat rack!

My diet hasn’t been on point but whatever. Those freakin’ mini muffins Catering leaves in the break room are too damn delicious! I do feel better when I eat better, so I’ve been making small changes. I’ve been introduced to the Pink Lady apple, so that’s my new favorite snack. Now to make apple pie with it…. yummmm!

Lately I’ve also been on an eBay kick as you might haven noticed from my latest post. I’ve been selling a lot of my old Lululemon gear, along with a couple other items. Kind of addicting! I’ve also been scoring some pretty sweet deals. I bought a Naked 3 palette from Urban Decay for $15! YES, it’s 100% authentic. I used a $25 gift card from Influenster and only paid $15 out of pocket. I’m sure you all care about my eBay finds (sarcasm) but I had to tell someone about my lucky find! eBay has been earning me a little bit of extra cash, I like it! I’ve been Goodwill shopping and flipping my purchases.

I’ve also been writing plenty reviews. Influenster has been gracious enough to choose me for a lot of their VoxBox programs and campaigns. I should be getting my VSX Sports Bra in the mail any day along with a pair of VS workout pants! I should also be getting my Allure Sample Society box for September by the end of the week. Apparently, Ipsy has decided to reinstate my cancelled membership without my permission and have me join again, so I should be getting a Glam Bag at the end of the week as well. I’ll give them another shot…. even though they shouldn’t be reinstating my membership without my permission. If I don’t get my Glam Bag at the end of next week, I’ll give them hell.

Anyways, sorry for being a shitty blogger lately! I’ve been extremely busy and about to get busier. Hope everyone has a great week! Stay tuned, I might do something unusual and post a workout…. **GASP!**

Cleaning Out My Closet!

Hey Guys!

I just wanted you to know I’m cleaning out my closet, so if anyone is interested, I have some workout clothes for sale on eBay, check out my eBay page! The original listings will last 5 days, whatever I don’t sell I’ll be decreasing the price dramatically. So if you have an eBay account, add my listings to your watch list if you’re interested and keep an eye on them 🙂

#1. White Zella Jacket size Small – Excellent condition! Only worn a handful of times. Thumb holes, bonus!

#2. American Apparel High Waisted Elastic Jeggings size Medium – Excellent condition, only worn once. Great with boots.

#3. Zella ‘Balance’ Pant size 4 – Only worn a few times, great pair of pants, excellent condition. Just not my style, I like the leggings that are tighter around the ankles.

#4. Brooks Red and Black Jacket size Small – Great for running outdoors in the Winter. I don’t typically run outdoors in the rain or cold, so this isn’t of much use to me. Great condition! Really warm.

#5. Lululemon Brown Zip Up Jacket size 4 – I thought this jacket would be practical with my lifestyle, but it’s not. Bussing back and forth from the gym in Seattle requires something a little more heavy duty, and hooded!

#6. Lululemon Red Zip Up Jacket size 4 – Same as above! Really wish I could wear these more often! Only defect is small snag in front and dark mark.
Thanks for looking guys, have a great Labor Day weekend!

Earned my eBay Badge!

INFLUENSTEREBAY2

Exciting news for me last night when I opened my email…. I earned my FIRST badge with Influenster! I participated in an eBay challenge where you write 2 guides on topics that have not been written about. There were certain requirements you had to fulfill before submitting your guide:

  • Your guide had to include at least 1 photo
  • Your guide had to include at least 3 links
  • Your guide must have at least 350 words and 4 different sections

You can check ’em out here! I actually ended up writing 3 initially so I could earn a $25 eBay gift card, and they sweetened the deal by having you write 2 more for an eBay VIP badge AND another $25 gift card!

This site is completely FREE! They send complimentary VoxBoxes as well for product review purposes. I just received my Sally Hansen VoxBox in the mail yesterday! I can’t wait to try out the new Gel Manicure polish this weekend for my friend’s wedding. I’ve never tried Gel Manicure polish, so this will be a first for me.

influenster2

I have high hopes for this product! I’ve only ever gotten shellac once, and I loved it while I had it, but once removed my nails were so weak! I really hope this Gel Manicure is the solution to my nail polish woes! I will be writing a review as soon as I try it out, so stay tuned!

In the meantime, join Influenster! If you have a high flux in social media followers, this is an amazing site to share your knowledge of products ranging from travel, décor, beauty, food, fitness; as well as connect with fellow Influensters and learn about new products. Check it out!

On top of that great news, I will also be receiving a complete supplement line from my sponsor Femme. They are launching their new Zip, Fit, Firm line of pre-workout, BCA complex, and a Carnitine blend for fat loss. I’m extremely excited to try it out, especially since I’ve been so happy with their Peach Skin Firming Cream. I’m not sure when it should be arriving in the mail since they are based in Australia and it took nearly 5 months for my first product to arrive. It turns out they sent my Peach Skin Firming Cream several times, it just kept getting lost in the mail somehow. I’m not surprised, IPSY had a hard time finding my house too!

zipfitfirm

Plenty of great opportunities ahead! I’ve been very blessed this past year and I’m extremely thankful. I will admit I was very discouraged when Quest Nutrition didn’t follow through with their offer to become a brand ambassador for them. I’ve worked really hard to get where I’m at today, putting in the effort to reach out to plenty of company’s, promoting myself and my lifestyle, and not giving up. It’s been a crazy ride, but things are starting to fall into place.
