FitBliss Fitness – Check In #3

Hello and good morning all! I hope everyone had an amazing holiday season and enjoyed ALL the treats! I know I definitely did which is why there isn’t much progress for me this week as far as measurements and weight are concerned. However, I DO feel stronger and notice a difference with how I feel as well as my overall body composition. I also didn’t “gain” any weight so that’s a plus!

Here are my measurements as of Monday, December 28th:

Small of Waist: 26 in
Waist: 28 in
Hips: 38.5 in
Right Leg: 22 in
Left Leg: 22 in
Right Arm: 10.5 in
Left Arm: 10.5 in

According to my Woman Log, Aunt Flo will be in town beginning this weekend, which explains my cravings for all things fatty and delicious. I need to brainstorm a way to combat these cravings. I won’t lie, I haven’t been measuring my almond butter as accurately as I should!

To help ensure I’m staying within my calorie and macro allotment, I will
make the following adjustments:

  1. Since there is no way to measure my lightsfood at the Cafe where I work, I will be bringing my OWN meals for lunch.
  2. I will begin measuring EVERYTHING! No more guesstimation! I’m not doing the plan any justice by “guessing.”
  3. Plan my meals and measure my macros at least the day BEFORE! This allows me to play with MFP, add my treats when I know Aunt Flo is visiting, and set myself up for success to stay within my calorie and macro allotment.
  4. Schedule my workouts the week before and write them on my calendar! I will be starting school next week, so this will be imperative!
  5. Effectively plan my meals when I know I have social events to attend, always be prepared.

Just for shits and giggles, I’m posting this Snap Chat photo from Sunday’s shopping adventure. Plato’s Closet dressing room lighting on FLEEK!

Here’s to a week of crushing goals! Everyone have a safe and fun NYE tomorrow ūüôā

FitBliss Fitness Check-In

So far the first week on my program with FitBliss Fitness has been great! I notice a huge difference in my body and overall well being.¬†Last week I made a jump start by watching my eating habits and fitting in at least 3 workouts, so my body was prepared for the program. Lynndsey has been extremely accommodating of my busy schedule and has written¬†me 3 workouts that can¬†be completed at home and 2 workouts to complete at the gym on weekends when I can go in the morning. If I’m already hooked and thrilled on week one, I can only imagine how satisfied I will feel near the end of the program and for the rest of my life.

I have always been extremely prideful of my ‘athletic ability’ in the sense that I stay¬†motivated, write my own workouts, count my own macros, and see results…. health¬†has been a passion of mine since I met my ex husband and he opened the door to the wizarding fitness world for me.

But he’s my ex husband, freshly ex husband, and as I’ve stated many times before, after the divorce I became extremely unmotivated. I dove into a deep depression that crippled me, I fell out of the routine that kept me sane and brought me happiness, I mistreated my body with drugs, alcohol, and little nutrition, and I stopped loving myself. But I’m ready to move on with my life, pick up the things that made me happy, and learn something new about myself along the way. I had to swallow my pride when I made the choice¬†to work with a coach, but I need the guidance and accountability, and I couldn’t be happier with my decision.

The best part is this program fits my life style. I don’t have to sacrifice anything, maybe a little time to train, but that’s balance. I can still eat the foods I love, go out on the town with friends, have the occasional drink or two, take Ruky¬†for a run as my cardio day, workout from home and still get a few gym sessions in on early weekend mornings when no one is at the gym.

I’m already down 5lbs from when I filled out my FitBliss IMG_3429Fitness application! I’m discovering what works for me, where I’m strong, where I’m weak, what foods I can fit into my macros, what makes me feel good, and what doesn’t make me feel good. Last night I hoarded my macros so I could kill a whole Amy’s Pizza for dinner! I didn’t even have to starve all day! THAT is true happiness and a sense of accomplishment. Finally finding a healthy routine, balance, and¬†physical and mental well being. I’m happy. I’m actually happy and I haven’t been able to say that with 100% honesty in a long time. I’m letting go of the things in my life that have been toxic for my soul, mind, and body.

Here’s to creating healthy habits for a life time!

Full Body Tabata Circuit

If you haven’t downloaded the Tabata Pro Timer app I wrote about a few days ago, do so NOW for the best high intensity cardio workouts of your life!

Kid you not.

Today I did two short Tabata workouts that I wrote myself, on top of a Body Crush workout from none other than Zuzka Light, and I burned way more calories than I typically burn doing compound or isolation moves.

I was sweating, working hard, breathing hard, and I WILL be sore tomorrow. I wanted to share one of the two Tabata workouts I completed today:

fullbodytabataFor your reference, the information you will plug into the Tabata Pro Timer will look like the following:

By all means! Make any adjustments as you see fit!

I promise you will become addicted to Tabata training.

Try it out and let me know how you like it!

KB Booty Builder

My goal this year is to be more consistent with the amount of food related and workout posts I share. This will be A LOT easier now that I have my precious 25lb kettlebell I’ve been wishing for. I created another glute focused KB workout because training glutes is my FAVORITE! I’ve noticed a huge difference in overall muscle tone while training at home with my KB.

This week Aunt Flo is visiting, so I’m not as tight and toned as I would like to be, but hey, that’s life. I feel great and that’s all that matters. I will keep training hard this week regardless, and next week my results will really show.

I hope you enjoy this simple but tough workout. Comment below if you would like to any specific workouts in the future: HIIT, bodyweight, Tabata, etc.

It’s Only Been 1 1/2 Weeks?!

By golly, my stats are suffering! I haven’t written in what seems like a millennium, but I’m pretty sure its been a week and a half. I’ve been busy wrapping up the quarter with my essays getting more difficult, more chapters of reading assigned weekly, and math making less and less sense to me. 2 more weeks! Holy crap!

Registration for¬†Winter¬†Quarter¬†classes opened this morning.¬†I thought I would have the pick of the crop, but I was surprised that damn near every English 201 online class was FULL! I settled for an online English 201 Research Paper class by a professor who was rated a B- on RateMyProfessors.com. In all fairness, he scored higher than my current English 101 teacher who¬†has a C+. So far I have a 95% in my current English 101 class, so I’m not completely distraught.

I also registered for Biology 108 – Human Biology. Another online class that fulfills my lab requirement. Biology 108 is worth 6 credits. I was going to take Biology 100, but the only online teacher available received such terrible scores on RateMyProfessors.com that I couldn’t bring myself to register for it.

I will also be taking Math098 on campus Mondays and Wednesdays 5:30pm – 7:40pm. Looks like I will be keeping the same schedule for Winter Quarter! So psyched to keep my same routine, it’s actually not so bad.

I’ve been keeping busy hitting my fitness and health goals. I feel like some weeks this quarter I completely let myself go and only reached 3 weekly workouts. Sometimes it’s difficult to stay on top of school and training. I’ve been making it a goal to physically GO to the gym at least twice a week, and the other 2-3 days I can choose the gym or do HIIT Zuzka videos at home.

Last week I made it to the gym twice, did a killer leg session on Tuesday and an upper body, ab, and cardio workout on Thursday. On Friday, Saturday, and¬†Sunday I did Zuzka videos at home. Holy crap her new content is KILLER! You’ll never believe it, I actually spoke with her via email directly last week!

Her original website was taken over by her previous employers and re-named Sweat Factor with new trainers added. I tried it out for a few weeks but when I noticed she wasn’t posting new videos I was upset and worried. I reached out to Sweat Factor asking where she went, and they abruptly told me my membership was cancelled and Zuzka was no longer a part of Sweat Factor. I managed to find her NEW site and tried using my old login which was invalid. I emailed her new site and was honored to speak to Z herself! I asked her what happened and she explained the whole story about her working for Sweat Factor under a work visa, how they owned all her old content, videos, etc. Now she has her own company and I love her new website layout and workouts.¬†I might actually get a feature on her blog too!

On top of that great news, I resigned my athlete contract with Femme Nutrition and received new Peach skin tightening cream for my tush, and their new supplement line of pre-workout, carnitine, and BCAA’s! This month I didn’t receive the carnitine supplement but I received 2 flavors of their pre-workout. The Passion Fruit flavor is to die for! It gives me good clean energy without the anxiety and jitters afterwards. I used to get really bad anxiety¬†from pre-workout like Red Line, Speed Stack, and Endo Rush. The Pineapple BCAA’s are also super tasty, I’m very pleased with the taste and quality Femme Nutrition has produced. As a sponsored athlete I receive monthly packages from them and features on their blog.

MORE GREAT NEWS!

I was nominated as the lucky grand prize winner on Influenster for the Victoria’s Secret VoxBox! My YouTube Review of the Incredible Victoria’s Secret Sport Bra and workout crops landed me a $500 Victoria’s Secret Gift Card! I was absolutely thrilled when I opened the email last week! I literally had to rub my eyes to make sure I was reading the amount correctly. Apparently there were¬†fifty $50 gift card winners and¬†one $500 gift card winner. I feel so blessed that I was chosen!

VS2All and all its been a pretty great week and a half since I last wrote. This week is a 3 day work week, we have a 4 day weekend with plenty of food, sleep, family time, and time spent with the hubby! 2 more weeks until Christmas break, so excited! I hope everyone has a great holiday weekend spent being grateful with family ūüôā

WOD – Full Body Blast

I hope everyone is enjoying the crisp Fall weather!

Although the sun is shining in Seattle, the air is beyond freezing so my outdoor run is being traded for an indoor at-home workout. I guess that just means I need to shop for running gear from Lululemon, bummer ūüėČ I have my eye on a couple items.

The workout I wrote for today includes plenty of cardio, strength training moves, booty and ab focus. All of our favorite things right?! All you need is a Kettlebell, but if you don’t have one, you can replace the 30 reps of¬†Kettlebell Goblet Squats with 50 reps of Air Squats.

The first set of exercises is cardio focused. This is your warm up to get your heart pumping a lil’ bit.

The second set of exercises is booty focused. Really challenge and focus on all the muscle of your lower body. Sink back into the heels, keep back straight, shoulders back, and core engaged. Slow and controlled movements.

The third set of exercises is ab focused. You should be feeling really good by the last round of this third set. Make sure to stay hydrated and STRETCH afterwards! This type of workout is best done twice a week paired with 2-3 lifting days and a long distance cardio day.

If you’re not sure how to do a certain exercise, feel free to reach out to me and I can send you a YouTube video link, or you can look on¬†YouTube yourself.¬†Let me know how you like this workout!

Cardio & Lifting Challenge!

Today I’m going to be trying out this new cardio workout as a warm up to my lifting session. I’ve never tried it before, but it looks like it will get your sweaty, keep your heart rate elevated, and focus on your glutes.

Lately I’ve been using exercise combos during my plyometric warm ups to focus on my glutes and I can tell a HUGE difference! I don’t know if I’m just looking for booty gains and hallucinating, but my butt definitely looks and feels perkier, rounder, and lifted.

For my lift I want to try this Leg Superset. It looks like a challenge, but I’m more than willing to accept so I can reap the benefits of having a stronger lower half and of course a nice booty ūüôā I’ve been a little obsessed with the muscle gains I’ve been making and I’m interested to see where I can take my body physically in strength WHILE….. also maintaining lean body mass and agility.

Derek and I have decided that we want to run a half marathon on Thanksgiving day before the gluttonous festivities! I haven’t ran outdoors for a few weeks now and the weather has only¬†gotten worse. I will have to take my training indoors soon. We won’t be registering for a race, him and I will run 13.1 miles around our house. Better start training!

Try these workouts if you dare! Has anyone tried incorporating Pistol Squats into their workouts yet? Let me know!
