FitBliss Fitness – Check In #2

Checking in! First week of my program with FitBliss Fitness was IMG_3612
AWESOME! Not once did I feel hungry, I ate anything I wanted by exercising balance, I fit in most of my workouts and if I couldn’t make it to the gym, I made it up at home. I enjoyed pizza, burritos, chocolate and wine. What more could a gal ask for?!

In fact, I lost 6lbs since my first weigh in when I completed my application with FitBliss Fitness! Yesterday I sat at a nice 122lbs, the lowest I’ve seen my body weight since competing in 2014. My body is used to sitting at 125lbs average. With marathon training in 2013, my body sat at 119lbs. My ultimate goal is a healthy 115lbs, but I understand muscle weighs more than fat, and I would much rather take the muscle even if it comes with extra lbs!

IMG_3605
My abs are beginning to make an appearance again, my booty is a tad perkier, I feel STRONGER, and my hammies come out to play on occasion. Everything is looking a bit more defined, so I’m excited for week #2!

There’s always room to improve. Last week I was unable to make my gym workouts since my new dog son named Ruky flew in from Korea last Wednesday! I wanted to monitor him closely to see if he was house trained which he is! All he needs is obedience training. That being said, this week I will definitely hit my gym workouts. I also need to work on hitting my macros more accurately! Practice makes perfect.

Here are my measurements as of Monday, December 14th:

Small of Waist: 26 in
Waist: 28 in
Hips: 38.5 in
Right Leg: 22 in
Left Leg: 22 in
Right Arm: 10.5 in
Left Arm: 10.5 in

I will update my measurements next Monday, December 28th.

I hope everyone has an awesome Holiday Season!

FitBliss Fitness Check-In

So far the first week on my program with FitBliss Fitness has been great! I notice a huge difference in my body and overall well being. Last week I made a jump start by watching my eating habits and fitting in at least 3 workouts, so my body was prepared for the program. Lynndsey has been extremely accommodating of my busy schedule and has written me 3 workouts that can be completed at home and 2 workouts to complete at the gym on weekends when I can go in the morning. If I’m already hooked and thrilled on week one, I can only imagine how satisfied I will feel near the end of the program and for the rest of my life.

I have always been extremely prideful of my ‘athletic ability’ in the sense that I stay motivated, write my own workouts, count my own macros, and see results…. health has been a passion of mine since I met my ex husband and he opened the door to the wizarding fitness world for me.

But he’s my ex husband, freshly ex husband, and as I’ve stated many times before, after the divorce I became extremely unmotivated. I dove into a deep depression that crippled me, I fell out of the routine that kept me sane and brought me happiness, I mistreated my body with drugs, alcohol, and little nutrition, and I stopped loving myself. But I’m ready to move on with my life, pick up the things that made me happy, and learn something new about myself along the way. I had to swallow my pride when I made the choice to work with a coach, but I need the guidance and accountability, and I couldn’t be happier with my decision.

The best part is this program fits my life style. I don’t have to sacrifice anything, maybe a little time to train, but that’s balance. I can still eat the foods I love, go out on the town with friends, have the occasional drink or two, take Ruky for a run as my cardio day, workout from home and still get a few gym sessions in on early weekend mornings when no one is at the gym.

I’m already down 5lbs from when I filled out my FitBliss IMG_3429Fitness application! I’m discovering what works for me, where I’m strong, where I’m weak, what foods I can fit into my macros, what makes me feel good, and what doesn’t make me feel good. Last night I hoarded my macros so I could kill a whole Amy’s Pizza for dinner! I didn’t even have to starve all day! THAT is true happiness and a sense of accomplishment. Finally finding a healthy routine, balance, and physical and mental well being. I’m happy. I’m actually happy and I haven’t been able to say that with 100% honesty in a long time. I’m letting go of the things in my life that have been toxic for my soul, mind, and body.

Here’s to creating healthy habits for a life time!

Spring Break Projects and Recap!

I’ll be real with you…. I’ve been working one this ONE post for a week.

giphy

I’ve been struggling to find “inspiration” to write a blog post. I’ve been on Spring Break for two weeks now, with only a few more blissful days to look forward to, and I haven’t written nearly as often as I would like.

Last quarter wasn’t that fun. My attention was averted to studies, and when I wasn’t studying I was working out, and when I wasn’t working out I was working, and when I wasn’t doing any of those things I was either sleeping or stressin’ myself SICK. On a positive note, I earned scores I’m proud of! I have high hopes for Spring Quarter, and I look forward to writing more often!

transcript

This past week I’ve been asking myself, “What should I write about? More workouts? Recipes? Progress photos or challenges?”

Let’s be honest. Recipes are NOT my forte, and I haven’t really been working out as hard as I would like to be showing off ‘results’ or ‘progress’. The past few months have been all about ‘maintaining’ and fitting in my pants. After all, I wouldn’t even have the time to visit the store in search of another pair!

So I thought to myself, “Why not challenge yourself?”

Winter Quarter my fitness focus was to workout at least 4 times a week and stay within a certain caloric range, not really paying attention to macros. I’ve been suffering knee problems and tight IT bands so running has been out of the question. As much as I love my home workouts with my kettle bell, I’ve been going a little insane cooped up in the house.

SO….. Spring Quarter my goals is to workout 5 times a week, get myself back on a macro plan during the week with more freedom on weekends, and to rehabilitate myself back into running. To get a head start on these goals I bought a scale on Amazon.com to keep my macros on point, I completed 5 workouts last week, and my husband took me for a low key trail run last Friday to assess where my body’s at. Good news! No pain! He taught me a few warm up exercises and how to pace my stride, I just have to take it SLOOOOW and restrain myself from powering through any pain.scale

Buying a scale has been extremely helpful! Even if I’m not 100% on point down to the milligram, it’s a GREAT awareness tool! I’ve seen a HUGE difference! Instead of grabbing the entire bag of Skinny Pop and dragging it to the couch with me, I measure out the appropriate serving amount by ounces and voila! I still get my treats and I look and feel better at the same time. Thanks to one of the fitness gals I met at Emerald Cup last year and follow on Facebook & IG, I scored a great deal on a scale! Amazon was running a coupon so I only paid about $16 for it!

I have also been working on becoming an Ambassador for Lenny & Larry’s! I am absolutely OBSESSED with their cookies! They are sinfully delicious, packed with protein, made with wholesome ingredients, and great for an active and busy lifestyle. I am in Phase 2 of the application process. I just uploaded my Lenny & Larry’s instavid to Instagram…. everyone should go check it out, follow me, and LIKE it! You should also consider trying their new Snickerdoodle cookie….. to die for.

On top of my fitness goals I set a volunteer and “experience of a life time” goal to travel to Bali this August with Habitat for Humanity to help build homes for less families. The idea was sort of a spur of the moment decision, but I couldn’t be more happy with my decision! I want to do something with my life that isn’t for me, but also isn’t for people who are will be ungrateful or unappreciative. I have always wanted to do volunteer work and travel, I always imagined I might join the Peace Corps, but after much research I really like what I’ve read about Habitat for Humanity. Not to mention, my ultimate career dream is to engineer sustainable homes in the future, so working with my hands will give me great experience.

indonesiahabitata

I created a GoFundMe account and have the goal to raise approximately $6,500! The Program Costs of $2,100 are due June 24th which is really soon, so even if I don’t reach my fundraising goal by the deadline, I plan on going next year for sure, either way the money WILL go to Habitat for Humanity. The remaining costs are a buffer estimate of airfare which I will have to cover myself, vaccinations, visa fees, living expenses and bills while I am away etc. I’m pretty nervous, excited, and thrilled! I would love and appreciate any help.

I guess I have a full plate this quarter! When I sit still for too long, I take on more projects 😉 Stay tuned for workouts, updates, and more, have a great weekend!

Thoughts…….

My blog hasn’t really been structured lately, in fact, I don’t believe my blog ever had structure! I just sorta’ post when I feel like it, or sometimes I’ll post when I realize my page views are dropping and I have been doing a shitty job keeping my readers engaged. Some times it’s hard to have really great content ‘come to you’. So here’s a hodge-podge of random thoughts for your reading pleasure….

I recently added a few new categories to my blog. I’ve expanded my product review labels since I recently joined Influenster, Sample Society by Allure, Fabletics athletic apparel by Kate Hudson, and I’m a sponsored athlete with Femme. Now I’m just sittin’ pretty until my goodies arrive in the mail so I can tell you how awesome or not awesome they are!

In the mean time, I’ve been creating goals for myself with the new school year fast approaching. This will be my first time back at college in 5 years! It’s a pretty monumental moment for me! I will be working overtime at my job with a full course schedule. I’ve never actually done that before! It will be hard to sacrifice some workout time for school, but I won’t give up one or the other, I WILL find a balance! tina2

My typical goal is to visit the gym 5 times a week, working out anywhere between an hour and 15 minutes to an hour and 45 minutes.

While I’m enrolled in school I’ve set my goal for at least 4 times a week, working out the same amount of time, but working out SMARTER. I will be incorporating more HIIT treadmill sprints and incline sprints with plyo sets in between. I easily torched about 750-800 calories in a short amount of time during my competition prep with this style workout. Currently I am lucky if I burn up to 600 calories with my lifting schedule. Both types of workouts have their benefits, I personally benefit more from cardio and plyo workouts, especially when I have limited time. I will still incorporate two lifting days, mostly leg days, but if my arms are feeling skimpy I’ll do some upper body as well. I usually workout upper body 2-4 times a month! Not often!

I’ve also adjusted my macros so I will be eating less carbs. Not much less, but I definitely feel like I didn’t need 186 grams per day! We’ll see how my body reacts.

If I become too overwhelmed with the schedule and can’t fit my workout in after work, I can also run to work in the mornings while good weather lasts. My work has a shower, all I have to do is bring a small shower basket with hair products and small make up bag to keep in my locker. Voila! Where there’s a will, there’s a way!

This will be my work and school schedule beginning Monday, September 22nd:

Monday and Wednesday:
-Work:    6:00am to 4:30pm
-School: 5:20pm to 7:40pm

Tuesday, Thursday, Friday:
-Work:    6:00am to 2:30pm
-School: No classes! Workout and HW

I’m secretly really excited for school 🙂 Am I terrified because it’s been 5 years?! Absolutely! I really need the distraction from work, I need to feel like I’m working on something to achieve a purpose for MY future. I love the convenience my job; the hours, the pay, benefits, and the pace; but I know that there is something else for me on the horizon.

Is it weird that this almost feels like farewell?! I’m about to be insanely busy, I really hope I can cope with the jam packed schedule. My future blog posts might be few and far between, and when I do post they may be rushed and just a brief update. To be honest, I might migrate back over to the old school pen and notebook journal. Something about physically writing with pen and paper soothes me. I will write as often as I can, until next time……

New Week – Fresh Start

Hey Guys,

Sorry I’ve been a lil’ M.I.A lately. Life has been a crazy train the past few weeks. I’ve been busy with Bachelorette party planning, travelling to Vancouver for a second Bachelorette party, making plans for my friend Brittany’s wedding this weekend, Derek has his Iron Man the weekend after the wedding, I’ve been approved for weekly over time at work for cross training purposes with the Cybercrime Center, I’m also planning on going to the Washington State Open Bodybuilding Fitness Expo in Puyallup, and I’m tracking down my Financial Aid for school this Fall and the list continues. Man, I need a vacation!

Brittany’s Bachelorette Party last weekend at Danielle’s house and in Seattle at Wasabi Bistro.

Even though it’s been insanely crazy, I’ve been having loads of fun the past few weekends! Last weekend Danielle and I planned Brittany’s Bachelorette party together. It was a fun night! We decorated Danielle’s house, made snacks, and made margaritas. We did a freakin’ good job, I was super proud of us! We opened presents, had a few drinks, took photos in the photo booth and head out to Seattle for dinner at Wasabi Bistro. Wasabi Bistro was delicious and the bartender was kind enough to give us delicious free drinks. They were so amazing, I wish I remembered what they were called! After dinner we went out on the town to Ohana and Foundation Nightclub for a few and came back to Danielle’s house for board games and wine. It was a low key evening, but plenty of fun catching up with close friends 🙂

Danielle’s Bachelorette Party in Vancouver this weekend with 12 gals!

This weekend was Danielle’s Bachelorette party in Vancouver, 12 girls total and NO CELL PHONE SERVICE! It was definitely tough staying together as one group without getting lost since most of our phones were turned off. After we found the second hotel on Saturday, everything was easy going. You’d be surprised how helpless you feel without service or GPS! It was so much fun meeting all of Danielle’s family and gal pals, they were a great crowd. Saturday we went to lunch at a Chinese restaurant in Downtown and bought vodka on the way back to the hotel to PREEE FUUUUUUNK! To be honest, I think I was at my drunkest while we were pre-funking at the hotel. We walked down to the water front and took epic photos, and had our photos taken by complete strangers and tourists. Kind of awkward but super cute anyhow 🙂 Afterwards we started getting ready to leave for dinner and clubbing. I must say, it was a fun evening! Even though I’m 99% sure our drinks were watered down, it was still fun giving Danielle ‘dare’s’ to complete throughout the evening. As you can see, one of the dare’s was to have a stranger wear her bra! She didn’t even have to be drunk for that one! She also had a male stranger buy her a drink, she danced on top of the bar, and was invited to go behind the bar to mix her own drink. It was a great weekend!

Brittany and I started the drive back to Seattle early so we could decompress and mentally prepare for the week ahead, I can’t believe she gets married in less than a week! This Summer has definitely kept us all extremely busy, it’s been great though 🙂

I’ve been very blessed with new opportunities from my sponsor, and I’ve been blessed with the opportunity to work over time while training at the Cybercrime Center, increasing my pay by $300 a month. Definitely needed and appreciated! I also just got off the phone with Financial Aid and I’ve been granted a deferment so my tuition isn’t due until September 15th, whewww! Dodged a bullet there! A month and a half until schooooool! I also FINALLY have a workout partner! Kat signed up for an L.A Fitness membership and we will be working out together Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays. Squat partner! 🙂

Well, I better work on my ‘To Do’ list, hope everyone has a fabulous week!

Fabletics!

fabYippee! I just bought myself a 3 piece $25 outfit on Fabletics.com! I’m super excited to receive it in the mail. I always feel like I’m the gal at the gym rockin’ the same shit. Some times I get self conscious thinking other people probably think I don’t even wash my clothes!

It’s definitely fun to rock some new gym swag. Plus, I deserve a treat since I’ve been making such great progress with my workouts and following IIFYM. Fabletics is an amazing website where you can buy amazing quality workout clothing at great prices. They have everything from sports bras, tank tops, t-shirts, shorts, crops, leggings to jackets, long sleeve flowy yoga shirts, yoga mats, accessories, open back styles and so much more. For the month of August they released a really cute Ombre style pattern for leggings, tanks, and this sweatshirt I freakin’ want so bad!

If this sounds like something you’re interested in, follow this link: Fabletics.com. You have 24 hours to get your first outfit (up to 3 pieces!) fableticsfor $25 🙂

However, this will sign you up for a monthly subscription that begins at $49.99. Every month you will have outfits tailored to your tastes offered to you on the 1st. You have 5 days (until the 5th) to either decline and skip the month free of charge or choose your own outfit! There is no binding contract whatsoever. If you should forget to skip a month, your card will be charged the $49.99 BUT you will have that amount as store credit, just remember for next time 🙂

I’m really excited, I can’t wait to try my new outfit and get great deals in the future. I’m excited to see what they have in store for Winter apparel. This honestly is such a great idea for me because I spend most of my life in workout clothes anyhow. Might as well have the professionals tailor an outfit to my tastes, log in, decide wether or not I like my selections or pick something else out for a really great deal. Most 3 piece outfits are less than one article of clothing from Lululemon. Isn’t that crazy?!

Anyhow, I hope you can take advantage of the 24 hour promo deal to get your first outfit for $25. There is absolutely NO commitment, you can skip a month or cancel at anytime. I bet you won’t want to though 😉

On that note, enjoy the weekend and browsing for your new wardrobe!

New Products!

INFLUENSTERYipee, I just found out that I qualify for a complimentary Sally Hansen VoxBox from Influenster for testing purposes, I can’t wait to get my goodies in the mail 🙂 If you’re new to my blog, Influenster is a FREE website where you can connect all your social media such as Twitter, Instagram, Facebook, YouTube, Blog etc. to increase you impact score when you review products. The more followers you have on social media, the more desirable you are to be chosen for complimentary products for testing purposes. You can complete reviews and answer questions about products you are knowledgeable about, increasing your score, and earn brand badges from thousands of companies.

Currently I am enrolled for my Ebay badge and Sally Hansen badge. For my Ebay badge I submitted 3 detail oriented guides on chosen topics on how to shop or sell on Ebay. They are under review, but once they are approved I will have won my Ebay badge AND a $25 gift card for Ebay! Easy huh? You can check out my Ebay guides at: Jessica’s Ebay Guides.

Once I receive my Sally Hansen VoxBox in the mail, I will be able to check it in online. From there they will provide me a list of tasks to complete to earn my Sally Hansen badge! VOILA!

femme

On top of that great news, I will also be receiving a complete supplement line from my sponsor Femme. They are launching their new Zip, Fit, Firm line of pre-workout, BCA complex, and a Carnitine blend for fat loss. I’m extremely excited to try it out, especially since I’ve been so happy with their Peach Skin Firming Cream. I’m not sure when it should be arriving in the mail since they are based in Australia and it took nearly 5 months for my first product to arrive. It turns out they sent my Peach Skin Firming Cream several times, it just kept getting lost in the mail somehow. I’m not surprised, IPSY had a hard time finding my house too!

zipfitfirm

Plenty of great opportunities ahead! I’ve been very blessed this past year and I’m extremely thankful. I will admit I was very discouraged when Quest Nutrition didn’t follow through with their offer to become a brand ambassador for them. I’ve worked really hard to get where I’m at today, putting in the effort to reach out to plenty of company’s, promoting myself and my lifestyle, and not giving up. It’s been a crazy ride, but things are starting to fall into place.
