Something I can eat at Work!

Hey guys! I GOT MY LIFTING GLOOOOOVES TODAY! So stoked to lift some heavy shit tomorrow, definitely motivated to get my ass out of bed tomorrow morning!

Other great news: I found something I can eat at work! My other co-workers are ALWAYS bringing in sugar, copious amounts of sugar like brownies, cookies, cheesecakes, etc. Not to mention our Catering always has leftovers, and since it’s the New Year, they have all sorts of new goodies on their menu that I’m just DYING to try. I’m staying strong though. Today is Day 4 of the ‘cutting phase’. I am allowed 1,440 calories a day spread out into 5-7 meals a day depending on what time I roll out of bed and how intense my workouts are. One of my co-workers was given these Kale Chips today by our Catering team and NO ONE liked them! I LOVED them, so I took 2 containers home, they will be my guilty pleasure that I ration for the rest of the week, teehee.

To curb my undying hunger, I’ve actually been playing around with the idea of ‘Carb Cycling‘. I read an article about it on FitnessRx for Women and it sounds really interesting. Carb Cycling is where you have approximately 3-4 days of high carb days that are paired with heavy workouts such as heavy lifting and leg day. The other 3-4 days are low carb days where you cut your carbs for activities such as cardio and abs. Once comp date gets closer, anywhere from 12 to 8 weeks out you will lessen your high carb days to about 2-3. I included the link to the article, you should definitely read up on it. It helps with cravings while prepping too.

This weekend I get my first cheat meal! This Saturday after my training session with Derek we are going to go out to Seattle and spend the day in the International District. We’ll probably end up grubbing on some delicious Asian food for lunch down there. Sunday we’re going to do a Hot Yoga class together too, stretch out and relax from the crazy REAL first week of the year.

Anywho, here’s my workout for tomorrow, hope you guys enjoy:

ZZZzzzz, I Slept Last Night!

Wow, I had the most amazing sleep last night…. it was incredible! I went to bed early, around 9:15pm after drinking copious amount of Celestial Sleepy Time Vanilla herbal tea. I had 3 bags worth before turning in and calling it a night. Boy did I pass out QUICK! I didn’t even wake up when Derek came to bed. Usually I can’t fall asleep until he’s in bed with me, but nooooo, not last night. This girl was sleepy! I even dreamed! celestialsleepytimne

I went to the gym after waiting in the FREEEEEZING cold for my bus for about 40 minutes! Ughhh, so cold. My first bus never showed up, so I had to wait for the next one. There must have been really bad ice at the terminal. I debated just turning around and going back home and doing an at home workout, but I decided against it, I needed to pay the gym a visit. The bus FINALLY came! My usual morning routine was a half hour behind. I stuck it out though and completed my workout! Boy did it feel good, miss that rigorous out of breath feeling, and weak jello legs!

Today I realized that I actually pump out some really intense workouts. I mean, I always knew I loved working out and worked out more than the average individual, but I go HARD! No wonder I’m still sore from last Wednesday’s leg day! I went all out! I thought my body just developed muscle really easily, but I just put it through the ringer. Kind of proud of myself a little bit! I tend to be really hard on myself, “Why aren’t you lifting heavier?”, “You should be doing more sets”, “You could be doing more reps”. I’m pretty bad ass. How’s that for an ego boost to one’s self? Haha!

I’m actually really excited to see the results of the bikini prep diet. Excited for the actual diet itself? Not so much. I’m definitely ready to watch some fat melt off! I need to start building a bigger and more solid booty too! I want that lifted shelf! I’m going to experiment with training booty twice a week, and incorporating booty exercises into my cardio as well (example: stair master single leg steps ups, elevated sprints etc.). I love my butt, but it needs some serious lifting in order to strut around in Brazilian bikini bottoms!

EEEEeeeeek, so excited for my new suit! Can’t wait to put that shit on, I’ll probably feel so embarrassed. It will be a reminder of all the hard work I need to do in order to win. I’m gonna be that annoying girl wearing high heels around the house practicing my model walk on the hard wood floor! Hope my neighbors don’t get pissed when they hear me stomping. O boy! I’m so nervous for the walk, I NEVER wear heels, they are so foreign to me! I’m gonna ace it. If I start walking around EVERYWHERE in heels now, then I should be good by April, right? I have to rally up my girls and start posing practice!

Tomorrow I have an upper body workout planned: cardio, shoulders, triceps, and chest. I’ve been incorporating resistance band training as well to keep my body guessing. I like the lean muscle fibers I get when I used resistance bands. I feel like strictly lifting tends to make me bulk up really quickly. I’m striving for that softer (don’t get me wrong, I want muscle too!), lean, feminine shape with big booty! I feel like I’m on my way to the perfect training plan! I need to practice consistency, exercise strong will power for the diet, and be conscious of my mental state and perspective. I know these competitions can be altering, I want to gain experience and learn from this while remaining pleasant ♥

This is going to be a strong week. I’m going to complete all my planned workouts, eat well, and splurge at the company Christmas party as well as my friend’s wedding on Saturday. Yep, that’s right, 2 cheat meals! Derek will actually be attending both of these events with me as well, so I get to show him off to co workers and friends.

Feeling really good, feeling really thankful…… ♥

Zero Sleep

***UUUuuughhhhh***

Not my idea of a great way to start the week.

Last night I was experiencing EXTREME pain in my middle/lower back and abdomen. Extreme pain where I couldn’t sit comfortably, and immediately after peeing I would have this immense pressure, and sharp stabbing pain that would come in waves. You could literally physically FEEL the pain moving inside my body. I had my husband place his hand on my lower back and even he could feel where it would move. It was the weirdest thing ever.

At first I thought it was really intense bloating and cramping for whatever reason. I definitely shouldn’t be at this time. Then I had the fine idea that it MIGHT be kidney stones which freaked me out! I hear those things are worse than child birth, and one of the number one reasons I personally don’t want a child is because of the immense pain. There was no way I was going to pass a kidney stone. I rather go to the Emergency Room, pay out of the nose for an ultrasound and have those things blasted out of me.

Anyways, after freaking myself out on WebMD and Mayo Clinic I could barely sleep. The pain and the stress literally kept me up all night. Right when I would be slipping into a slumber, I would immediately wake up. Not one wink…. *le siiiiiigh*

Even though the pain had subsided by 4:00am when my alarm goes off, I was probably running off of 3 hours of sleep and there was NO way I was gonna try to go to the gym on that, lift heavy things, and go experience a classic Monday at work. No thanks, I wouldn’t be a pleasant person to work with today under those conditions.

So I’ve decided to push back my workout schedule to start tomorrow and I will work out this upcoming Sunday instead of taking it off for a rest day. Boo, I really hate doing that. I think Monday work outs are important, and an excellent way to start the week. I won’t stress about it, I rather treat my body and my mind right. I don’t have enough steam.

Tomorrow the real madness and sweating begins. Today, catching up on needed rest and eating healthy.

Until tomorrow! body
