Drained….

Well, I was super amped on Monday.

Now I’m not 😩

I’m tired, my face is breaking out, and I’m ULTRA sensitive…. wtf happened?! Aunt Flo, come and go, get your business over with. Yikes, I feel like a train wreck.

giphy

Monday’s workout didn’t quite go as planned. My new Victoria’s Secret Runway Front Close Sports Bra broke before I could even workout in it! Guess I need something better to support these tata’s. I’m gonna look into a different style, I still really love VS Sports Bras. Sooooo, I had to workout in my normal bra….. HOLY SHIT. So much jiggle and so much bounce, and so incredibly awkward!

jennajenna2

After my plyo warm up I stuck with just lifting so I wouldn’t have to deal with the awkward bouncing. I finished my workout with spin bike intervals. It was a great quick workout, but the unexpected sports bra mishap required some serious patience and decision making. There was no way I was gonna skip my workout or go home, I was already at the gym.

Speaking of the gym. I really, really, REALLY dislike the time I go. You would be surprised, a 30 minute change in my work schedule makes a huge difference for gym traffic. So many more tool bags, no open squat rack, it’s hot, it’s crowded, and it’s a mess. I really don’t like the gym. I’m actually thinking about cancelling my membership and working out at home or Derek’s Vo2 Performance Center facility.

lift

On top of my dislike for the gym, I’ve been suffering back pain. I don’t want to call it an ‘injury’ because that would imply more seriousness, but I think it may have reached that status. The pain will go away with rest, but will act up again with physical activity or a wrong twist. I absolutely can’t stand sitting still, I NEED to move often, sweat often, and be out of breathe often. I will have to rewrite my workouts accordingly, perhaps put the Zuzka videos on hold and do more static workouts. I love burpees, jumping, and twisting, but I have to take care of my body first.

I was so excited to receive my 18lb dumbbell set from Amazon yesterday! I tore open the packaging when I got home from work, I had plans to use them, but I quickly discovered they were broken into two pieces each inside the vinyl casing. What a freakin’ disappointment, hot damn! I also received my second Victoria’s Secret order of 3 bras, only to discover this morning they were all too small. I’ve been ordering 32C for as long as I can remember. Either my knockers got bigger or Victoria’s Secret started making bras with sizes running smaller.

**Le siiiiiiigh**

Today I’ll be using the spin bike and doing a light workout with minimal strain on my back, then I will be returning all my new bras and getting resized. Yay!

I’m itching for the weekend…..

It’s Only Been 1 1/2 Weeks?!

By golly, my stats are suffering! I haven’t written in what seems like a millennium, but I’m pretty sure its been a week and a half. I’ve been busy wrapping up the quarter with my essays getting more difficult, more chapters of reading assigned weekly, and math making less and less sense to me. 2 more weeks! Holy crap!

Registration for Winter Quarter classes opened this morning. I thought I would have the pick of the crop, but I was surprised that damn near every English 201 online class was FULL! I settled for an online English 201 Research Paper class by a professor who was rated a B- on RateMyProfessors.com. In all fairness, he scored higher than my current English 101 teacher who has a C+. So far I have a 95% in my current English 101 class, so I’m not completely distraught.

I also registered for Biology 108 – Human Biology. Another online class that fulfills my lab requirement. Biology 108 is worth 6 credits. I was going to take Biology 100, but the only online teacher available received such terrible scores on RateMyProfessors.com that I couldn’t bring myself to register for it.

I will also be taking Math098 on campus Mondays and Wednesdays 5:30pm – 7:40pm. Looks like I will be keeping the same schedule for Winter Quarter! So psyched to keep my same routine, it’s actually not so bad.

I’ve been keeping busy hitting my fitness and health goals. I feel like some weeks this quarter I completely let myself go and only reached 3 weekly workouts. Sometimes it’s difficult to stay on top of school and training. I’ve been making it a goal to physically GO to the gym at least twice a week, and the other 2-3 days I can choose the gym or do HIIT Zuzka videos at home.

Last week I made it to the gym twice, did a killer leg session on Tuesday and an upper body, ab, and cardio workout on Thursday. On Friday, Saturday, and Sunday I did Zuzka videos at home. Holy crap her new content is KILLER! You’ll never believe it, I actually spoke with her via email directly last week!

Her original website was taken over by her previous employers and re-named Sweat Factor with new trainers added. I tried it out for a few weeks but when I noticed she wasn’t posting new videos I was upset and worried. I reached out to Sweat Factor asking where she went, and they abruptly told me my membership was cancelled and Zuzka was no longer a part of Sweat Factor. I managed to find her NEW site and tried using my old login which was invalid. I emailed her new site and was honored to speak to Z herself! I asked her what happened and she explained the whole story about her working for Sweat Factor under a work visa, how they owned all her old content, videos, etc. Now she has her own company and I love her new website layout and workouts. I might actually get a feature on her blog too!

On top of that great news, I resigned my athlete contract with Femme Nutrition and received new Peach skin tightening cream for my tush, and their new supplement line of pre-workout, carnitine, and BCAA’s! This month I didn’t receive the carnitine supplement but I received 2 flavors of their pre-workout. The Passion Fruit flavor is to die for! It gives me good clean energy without the anxiety and jitters afterwards. I used to get really bad anxiety from pre-workout like Red Line, Speed Stack, and Endo Rush. The Pineapple BCAA’s are also super tasty, I’m very pleased with the taste and quality Femme Nutrition has produced. As a sponsored athlete I receive monthly packages from them and features on their blog.

MORE GREAT NEWS!

I was nominated as the lucky grand prize winner on Influenster for the Victoria’s Secret VoxBox! My YouTube Review of the Incredible Victoria’s Secret Sport Bra and workout crops landed me a $500 Victoria’s Secret Gift Card! I was absolutely thrilled when I opened the email last week! I literally had to rub my eyes to make sure I was reading the amount correctly. Apparently there were fifty $50 gift card winners and one $500 gift card winner. I feel so blessed that I was chosen!

VS2All and all its been a pretty great week and a half since I last wrote. This week is a 3 day work week, we have a 4 day weekend with plenty of food, sleep, family time, and time spent with the hubby! 2 more weeks until Christmas break, so excited! I hope everyone has a great holiday weekend spent being grateful with family 🙂

WOD – Full Body Blast

I hope everyone is enjoying the crisp Fall weather!

Although the sun is shining in Seattle, the air is beyond freezing so my outdoor run is being traded for an indoor at-home workout. I guess that just means I need to shop for running gear from Lululemon, bummer 😉 I have my eye on a couple items.

Lululemon - Run with Me Toque Hat

Lululemon – Run with Me Toque Hat

Lululemon - Neck Warmer

Lululemon - Run with Me Gloves

The workout I wrote for today includes plenty of cardio, strength training moves, booty and ab focus. All of our favorite things right?! All you need is a Kettlebell, but if you don’t have one, you can replace the 30 reps of Kettlebell Goblet Squats with 50 reps of Air Squats.

The first set of exercises is cardio focused. This is your warm up to get your heart pumping a lil’ bit.

The second set of exercises is booty focused. Really challenge and focus on all the muscle of your lower body. Sink back into the heels, keep back straight, shoulders back, and core engaged. Slow and controlled movements.

The third set of exercises is ab focused. You should be feeling really good by the last round of this third set. Make sure to stay hydrated and STRETCH afterwards! This type of workout is best done twice a week paired with 2-3 lifting days and a long distance cardio day.

If you’re not sure how to do a certain exercise, feel free to reach out to me and I can send you a YouTube video link, or you can look on YouTube yourself. Let me know how you like this workout!

Favorite Exercise of the Week – Pistol Squat

I have developed a certain fondness for the Pistol Squat!

I really love how minimalist this exercise is. The pistol squat can be done virtually anywhere! Not only that, but I love the burn, the soreness, and the muscle this move creates in my legs. You don’t need a squat rack to get beautiful gams and a lifted butt. This exercise is guaranteed to leave you feeling sore, satisfied, and stronger after much practice and refinement.

Give it a shot this week!

While you’re at it, check out this article from Bodybuilding.com that breaks down all the variations of the Pistol Squat. These are NOT easy, I will tell you that! Don’t be disheartened though, doing a perfect pistol squat one day is an excellent goal 🙂

Why I like at home work outs…..

So as many of you may have noticed, I haven’t been too consistent with posting workouts.

To be honest, I haven’t really been writing my own workouts, I’ve been doing online workouts from home. They are just as effective, and much more conducive to my current life style. Between work, school, and being exhausted from work and school, all I want to do is be at home.

canapecc811

I’m lazy.

I don’t want to take a bus ride or shuttle to the gym, I don’t want to be stuck in traffic or in the rain, I don’t want to haul my big ass duffle bag with EVERYTHING-I-OWN-IN-IT, and I sure as hell don’t want to be tapping my foot waiting for the asshole in the squat rack to finish curling and texting.

2437378

Working out at home is juuuuuust fine with me. In fact, I’m more than okay with it.

I’m actually going to invest in some equipment! I have a few resistance bands and a pilates ball, but I want to get a 25lb kettle bell and thicker mats for my wood floors. I’ve even been playing around with the idea of a T-Grip bar.

As much as I do love at home workouts, I also miss the tight muscle mass and strength from weight training. So I’ve decided that I will start training with weights at the gym 2 days a week. I’ll divide these days into simple Upper Body and Lower Body days with a little bit of ab work and cardio thrown in the mix.

Today will be my first day back at the gym in 2 weeks! I’m taking the Microsoft shuttle to Downtown Bellevue despite the rain and traffic. I packed a much lighter gym bag and I have my workout written and my mind mentally prepared. All I have to do until then is keep myself awake, energized, and motivated! If I wanna look like Lara Croft by next Friday I better hit the squat rack and work on these gams! Thankfully I have a body that builds and retains muscle very well, so a couple days in the gym lifting weights WILL make a difference.

laracroftI’m kinda nervous to walk into the gym today, isn’t that the weirdest thing?! The gym was my entire life, soul, the very thing that I breathed day in and day out. Sometimes change is needed to rekindle a passion that was and is always there. Sometimes you really just need a break from even the things that are good for you. Absence makes the heart grow fonder right?

Anyways, I hope you all try this workout and tell me how bad your legs hurt. Hopefully you can walk by Halloween!

Summer Farewell

Mukilteo

This weekend at the Mukilteo Lighthouse Festival

Summer is nearing it’s end and Fall will be upon us in a few short weeks. Is it just me or did time fly by insanely quick? I hope everybody had a great Summer and did everything on their Bucket List. To farewell Summer, Derek and I went on a motorcycle ride to Mukilteo Beach to enjoy some brews at the Diamond Knot Brewery. Lucky for us, they were having the Lighthouse Festival as well! We got some early Christmas shopping done at the local vendor booths and sat on the docks enjoying the view. It was a very relaxing weekend, much needed for both of us.

In the next 2 weeks I’ll be going to school for the first time in 5 years! It’s pretty nerve wrecking, but I’m anxious to start making changes in my life and to aim my focus in new areas.

I don’t know if I ever blogged about it, but about 3-4 weeks ago I came across a bump in my Financial Aid. In 2008 I had a withdraw from Winter quarter at Bellevue College that was voiding my Financial Aid for this upcoming Fall. After much coordination with Derek’s friend in Financial Aid, Ernesto (bless his soul!); I was instructed to send in an Appeal with my explanation of what happened during that time. That was the year I ran away from home and experienced a lot of issues with my adoptive family, so I attested to that and had 5 witness letters written by friends and family. I’m truly blessed to have such good friends and family! Within 24 hours of me asking them each for the favor to write a witness letter, I had received them all and sent them in!

299

Financial Aid was approved! Hell yeah!

MY AID WAS APPROVED! So much stress has been lifted off my chest, none of it would have been possible without the help of Derek’s friend Ernesto.

I’m enrolled in English 101, Nutrition 100, and DON’T LAUGH…. Math 097. Yesterday morning I bought my books, holy hell those are a whole other expense! Thankfully I’ve been working 52 hour work weeks to earn overtime pay to make up for the wedding expenditures this Summer and help pay for books. I can’t wait to be on a normal schedule though! The money is nice and my mental health is actually doing pretty well, but I want to have more time in my day to where I’m not just working 6:00am to 6:30pm and vegging out on the couch until bedtime.

I have been staying on top of my workouts! I’ve been running 5-7 miles home on my 12 hour shifts days, and doing plenty of Zuzka videos on my normal 8 hour shift days or weekends. I honestly haven’t been to the gym in 3 weeks. I’m excited to go back though to work on my booty, I’m gonna diiiiie in the squat rack!

My diet hasn’t been on point but whatever. Those freakin’ mini muffins Catering leaves in the break room are too damn delicious! I do feel better when I eat better, so I’ve been making small changes. I’ve been introduced to the Pink Lady apple, so that’s my new favorite snack. Now to make apple pie with it…. yummmm!

Lately I’ve also been on an eBay kick as you might haven noticed from my latest post. I’ve been selling a lot of my old Lululemon gear, along with a couple other items. Kind of addicting! I’ve also been scoring some pretty sweet deals. I bought a Naked 3 palette from Urban Decay for $15! YES, it’s 100% authentic. I used a $25 gift card from Influenster and only paid $15 out of pocket. I’m sure you all care about my eBay finds (sarcasm) but I had to tell someone about my lucky find! eBay has been earning me a little bit of extra cash, I like it! I’ve been Goodwill shopping and flipping my purchases.

I’ve also been writing plenty reviews. Influenster has been gracious enough to choose me for a lot of their VoxBox programs and campaigns. I should be getting my VSX Sports Bra in the mail any day along with a pair of VS workout pants! I should also be getting my Allure Sample Society box for September by the end of the week. Apparently, Ipsy has decided to reinstate my cancelled membership without my permission and have me join again, so I should be getting a Glam Bag at the end of the week as well. I’ll give them another shot…. even though they shouldn’t be reinstating my membership without my permission. If I don’t get my Glam Bag at the end of next week, I’ll give them hell.

Anyways, sorry for being a shitty blogger lately! I’ve been extremely busy and about to get busier. Hope everyone has a great week! Stay tuned, I might do something unusual and post a workout…. **GASP!**

At Home Workouts

I’ll admit, I haven’t been going to the gym for the past week. I’ve been dreading carrying around a duffle bag the size of me all day, fighting people for gym equipment, spending hours at the gym dodging people trying to talk to me, and taking the bus home just in time to make dinner sit my ass on the couch and veg. I’m all too familiar with that gym routine while prepping for Emerald Cup.

Just because I’ve been skipping the gym doesn’t mean I haven’t been working out though! I love working out at home!

Last Saturday I went for a 6 mile run, Monday I went for a 4 mile run, and yesterday I did 4 Zuzka videos at home as well as a ‘Wash Cloth Ab Workout’. You can find some of the coolest workout videos on the internet! If you have been following me for a while, you know that I idolize Zuzka Light. She has my idea of the perfect physique. Her website has new workout videos posted every week! Her newest training programs include her: Lifted Butt Series and 6-Pack Summer Abs. Yesterday I did 2 Butt videos and 2 Summer Abs videos and I am definitely feeling the burn! I found a really great YouTube Channel with a couple really cool Wash Cloth Ab Combo exercises, check ’em out! Super fun and EFFECTIVE! I was surprised at how tough these exercises were!

I would suggest taking 4 exercises, completing anywhere from 10-20 reps of each exercise for 3 rounds…. that will have your abs TORCHED! Sorry Bodybuilding.com, your Erin Stern Training Program just wasn’t cutting it. I will definitely be going to the gym again, I’m just taking a break on my mind, body, AND I’m taking advantage of this amazing weather!

Hope you guys try these workouts, have an awesome day!

First Week Back in the Gym!

Hey Guys,

I feel like I’ve been a little M.I.A this week. The workplace was a definite MADHOUSE all week and I’ve been trying to find a healthy balance between working out and coming home, sitting on the couch watching TV, eating endless amounts of food….. Good news, I’ve eaten almost all the sugar out of the house so next week should look much MUCH better as far as my diet is concerned.

POST COMP

1 Week Transformation, post comp shape is deflating!

I’ve been eating really well at work this week, even though I haven’t gotten into the groove of hitting my macros accurately. I had delicious sweet BBQ Chicken or Steak salad for me at lunch. One day I had an apple and split a Theo chocolate bar with Lazaro. The chocolate craving has been STRONG this week…. yesterday morning explained all of that though. I’m going to be very blunt here….. for 5 months of my training my period completely stopped, so having it back is an utter relief!

KAT

New workout buddy, Katniss!

The gym has been pretty great this week too! I have a new workout partner who I’m trying to catch up to speed. She’s keeping up really REALLY well, I’m actually very impressed. Her name is Kat and we work together, we were friends long before she got a job with me at Microsoft. This week we started the 4 week Erin Stern training program. Successfully completed the first week with a couple workouts left for this weekend.

I really enjoy the structure of the training plan, but to be honest I’ve been modifying exercises to increase resistance/difficulty or increasing reps, adding drop sets, etc. I haven’t been wearing my Polar watch this week so I haven’t been able to calculate my calorie expenditure. Next week I will start wearing it again to see how hard I’m working and determine if I should re-write some workouts, workout longer, etc. It felt really great to be back! I’ve been so embarrassed to talk to anyone because of my weight gain. I keep thinking to myself, “They are gonna be so disappointed in me. They saw me a week ago and I looked so cut, and NOW I look soft everywhere.”

You know what though? I truly enjoy sporting a softer figure. Of course I have goals and areas of improvement, but I’m so happy to be back on track to living a normal life and finding a healthy balance. I can indulge when I want, I have choices, I have freedom. Some times I still can’t believe I can say ‘Yes’ to anything I want to eat. Haha, I think I’ve gone a little overboard with saying ‘Yes’ these past few weeks, but I’m working on self control and moderation. With that being said, if you have a myfitnesspal account, you should DEFINITELY add me and hold me accountable! You’ll notice I’ve been extremely inconsistent, too embarrassed to admit to the internet world I’ve eaten 3 boxes of Girl Scout cookies this week…. YIKES! Next week marks a fresh start, and don’t worry, I won’t be saying ‘Next week….’ at the end of next week 😉

Screen Shot 2014-05-10 at 11.20.18 AM

I can’t wait to get back into full swing. I definitely felt MUCH stronger this week, I put those extra calories from last week to good use. I was happy with my squatting weight. Even though I was able to increase my weight, I’m still too embarrassed to tell you how much 🙂 I have a couple goals I want to share with you guys so you can hold me accountable!

1) Complete the 4 Week Erin Stern Training Program – I will be using my body space as a guide for this training plan, however, body space isn’t very ‘user friendly’ so I won’t be tracking my workouts on their site. I will try to share my workouts as often as possible throughout the week! Please, please, please hold me accountable as much as possible, my readers truly motivate me to work harder every day! Without my readers, follower, and supporters I feel I wouldn’t have done half as well as I did during my competition training. You guys have been the best 🙂

DRESS

The lil’ black dress EVERY girl needs, I plan on rockin’ this one for my birthday

2) Lose Weight by my BirthdayREAD THE REST! I really hate the way that goal is worded. I don’t believe in losing weight, I believe in burning fat, building muscle, and changing body composition. I also really don’t enjoy setting specific dead lines for such goals, especially when the deadline is CRAZY soon…. but my birthday is in 4 weeks, and I would like to shed some post comp fluff, show off the muscle that I KNOW is hiding underneath so I can rock a cute black cocktail dress, look good, and go dancing with friends 🙂

3) CONSISTENTLY HIT MY MACROS! – I felt and looked my best when I was following IIFYM early in my competition prep. I was hitting my numbers consistently, allowing myself more calories overall, building muscle AND leaning out like crazy! I became miserable when I thought I needed to completely eliminate Quest Bars and nut butters, the 2 things that honestly kept me sane during the early stages of my prep. I didn’t understand why I needed to eliminate certain foods if I was accurately hitting my macros. This time I’m gonna train and eat how I want. IIFYM is so flexible, there’s no reason to binge or be miserable if you’re following this meal plan.

4) Begin running outdoors this Summer – The sun is beginning to come out more often than not, so I need to take advantage of the good weather and get back out there hitting the ground running. Is it sad that running up 5 flights of stairs at work leaves me completely winded? I feel like my cardiovascular capacity has decreased considerably. I’m my happiest outdoors running, I need to get back on it! Mapmyrun app and I are gonna be best fran’s again 🙂

Screen Shot 2014-05-10 at 12.23.33 PM

So excited, the trail looks amazing!

5) Register for Summer Blast Half Marathon at Redmond Watershed (Saturday, August 23rd, 2014) – YIPPEE! Local half marathon that only costs $41 if I register before July 25th! I marked the event on my calendar and it appears that weekend is clear, and if I begin training at the beginning of June after my 4 Week Trainer program is finished, I will have a sufficient 12 week training time period. Way too perfect….. destiny is telling me I need to register. Hello carbs! Hello bagels, cream cheese, and pastaaaaa!

6) Continue my Zuzka workout videos – I stopped doing my Zuzka workout videos as often during competition prep, but I miss them so much! I felt like her videos challenged not only my lean tissue development, but my cardiovascular strength as well. Her videos are so fun, quick, effective, and can be done at home if I’m truly too lazy to take the bus into Bellevue and drag my ass into the gym. I love how lean my legs get from all the burpees, jump squats, and every form of lunge she makes me do. Her exercises target EVERY muscle of the body. Even my arms and back get lean! Not to mention her abs are killer and she sure knows how to set mine on fire.

Whewwww! Those are my goals thus far! Quite a few of them, but a really great start 🙂 So excited for this summer….. it’s gonna be phenomenal!

Long or Short Hair?

Long or short hair? That is the question. I am debating just chopping it off, but I also want to give it the chance to grow and be pretty! I’m a low maintenance gal, short hair suits my lifestyle and personality well. Then again, it takes two seconds to throw up in a pony tail or messy bun. I’ve had short hair for over a year now and I want something different!

Also, I’m trying to guestimate how long my hair will be by the end of April. I feel like having longer hair, or at least an A-line bob will bring femininity to my bikini package. Any opinions?! I also think I’m going to go darker very soon, my blonde is becoming brassy, and I think darker is sexier and more natural anyhow.

Anyways, I finished my work early and I’m waiting to run home! Debating making my run 5 miles, or cutting it short and going only about 3.5. It’s going to be FREEZING and I’m off an hour later than last week. I better just suck it up and do it, I’ll warm up.

Exciting news! Tomorrow I have my Annual Review at work! I’m hoping I did amazing work all year round and get an awesome raise! I’m hoping for about a 5% increase, I have a lot of projects and Business Improvements to back me up. Not to mention….. I interviewed for a promotion and it was actually offered to me! It was very difficult deciding what I should do, but after making a list of pros and cons, talking to Derek and my manager, I decided the best option would be to wait for a full time position to open up with the Coordinator Team (team above mine). The offer was a 6 month contract, part time with the potential to become full time and a permanent role. Unfortunately I couldn’t take the risk, but it’s great knowing my managers acknowledge my hard work and have faith that I could create a new role. Ego boost for sure! I needed one too!

This week I’m gonna kick my ass, booty and legs incorporated into EVERY day. Yesterday I did 3 Zuzka videos at home, whewwww! She kicked my ASS! Jump squats, switch lunges, dive bombers, burpees etc…. definitely felt the burn! Her workouts are full body, but I love the focus they have on legs, and I love the results I get from her videos. Running definitely compliments her workouts as well, my legs and butt should shrink up in no time as long as I am CONSISTENT! Consistency has been hard for me lately. I NEED TO WORKOUT EVERY DAY! NO DAYS OFF! Last week I took 2 days off, can’t do that anymore. IDOL2

I have been mastering my cravings though, and I am more adjusted to my diet. Gum was the dumbest idea ever, flavored gum only makes me want to EAT something sugary. I want the satisfaction or chew, texture, and swallow. I am beginning to find cooking enjoyable! Last night I made spicy garlic chicken breasts in the crockpot, steamed broccoli with garlic and pepper for the week, finally made Turkey Muffins which are AMAZING, and I even made the Blueberry Yogurt Bites. So delicious! Tonight I am going to bake some sweet potatoes to have with my chicken and broccoli. Is it weird that I’m so excited?! Apples and peanut butter are like dessert for me too!

Well, I better wrap it and mentally prepare for this run home! Mmmmm and the delicious dinner waiting for me when I get there……

~Jess

Feels like it’s been forever….

Wow, this weekend seemed looooong. I feel like I haven’t been blogging in ages, when reality it’s been one whole day. With-drawls much?!

I’m super excited, I’ve got all sorts of content I wanna just spill outta my brains to make room for MORE! I’ve begun the ‘cutting phase’ of my training. “Holy shit, comp isn’t until April 25th!” Yeah, I know, I know. I might get a lot of shit from people, especially since I’m already pretty lean. But I want to start NOW, I need to know what my body will respond to. If I end up passing out from lack of nutrients, you can damn well bet I’ll be adding more food into my diet. If I lean out too quick, I’ll adjust my macro plan and gradually add health fats, carbs, and protein in. I’m not going EXTREME either. I just don’t really get the whole concept of ‘bulking’. Stuffing your face hole with more calories than are necessary? I get it, I get it, you wanna build muscle. To be honest, I don’t want to put my body through metabolic shock, so I’m taking it slow, real slow. Gradual cutting, and gradual adding. I respect my body too much to go on crash diets.

muscle

I’m not trying to stir anything, everybody is different. I personally pack on muscle really easily. I’ve been a workout fanatic for years now, love lifting and have been doin’ it for a while. I just wanna see what’s underneath all of this! So yes, I’ve begun the cutting phase…. gradually, just to see what it’s all about.

With that being said, I logged into myfitnesspal and played around with calorie and macro plans that I could do on a 1440 – 1600 calorie diet and a specific macro ratio. It APPEARS to be a lot of food! BUT…… if you read closely, you realize there’s a lot of protein powders, and the servings are so small. Kinda nervous over here, fo real.

I plan on eating 6-7 meals a day, I wake up at the ass crack of dawn so there’s more hours I’m awake and burning calories, therefore I need to eat more. I’m not going to break it down too much for you, check out myfitnesspal (Friday, January 3rd) if you’re really curious. Heads up, I discluded fish because of the radiation poisoning in the water…. yep, way to go humans, but that’s a whole other story:

1) Lean Ground Turkey (4 oz) – Can be had wrapped in a whole wheat low carb fiber tortilla, served with brown rice, sweet potato, or quinoa. Asparagus or kale salad for vegetables.
2) Chicken Breast (4 oz) size of your palm – See above
3) French Vanilla Creme Optimum Protein Powder
4) Almonds – Small servings
5) Oatmeal with almond butter – Only after workouts
6) Rice Cakes with cottage cheese or almond butter
7) Chobani Plain Low Fat Yogurt with almonds
8) Smoothies (IN MODERATION, preferably before workouts) with frozen fruit, protein, chia seeds, Greek yogurt, and/or almond milk

Minimal salt, minimal dairy, and no dressings. Few weeks before comp, I will cut out all salt and all dairy. It’s gonna be INTENSE! I managed to survive today, so we’ll see how this week goes. I prepared all my meals for this week, so I have absolutely everything I need. I want to weigh in on Friday and see where I’m at. My comp weight goal is 105lbs – 110lbs. Mind you, there will be water pills involved to flush out my water weight which will be a huge weight loss.

Leaning out! The tan helps too, teehee

Leaning out! The tan helps too, teehee

This weekend was full of great workouts and plenty of posing practice! When I got home on Friday I immediately thew on my bikini and heels and strutted around the house with a mirror and my camera phone for an hour! Makin’ some progress, but definitely much more work to be done. I practiced today too and sassed up my walk a lot more, figured out what to do with my hands, and pretty much have the outline of my 60 second individual routine down. I have friends who are gonna help me out too, I’m so glad I know people who have done these before! Definitely encouraging and supportive and totally there to help.

I’ve been tanning this week, so I’ve got a little color goin’ on finally! Gotta build that base for show day. Plus, I HATE being pale, I feel more motivated to workout when I’m tan too, haha, like I’m making progress or something. Nope, you’re just tan.

I really wanna share today’s workout with you guys! It was freakin’ phenomenal! Loved it, was completely out of breathe and my muscles were challenged. Tried some new stuff, fulfilled 50 minutes of cardio while challenging my whole entire body with HIIT.

I haven’t quite had the chance to write this weeks workout, but I will post them as the week goes by. Been busy with Kai this weekend, the post Christmas spoilage has made her such a “delight” this weekend…. She’s been swimming in toys and princess… things. Yuck.

Anywho, hope you enjoyed my meal plan items, go try my workout…. I DARE you.

G’nite folks, have a spectacular week, stay fly… XOXO
